It was mainly drug companies and their ilk that lobbied for corporations to be treated as "persons" legally.
Why?
So that they could get away with blatant drug advertising direct to the public. without the officers and other individuals involved being "guilty" (legally) for criminal acts such as misrepresentation, outright lying, or deceptions that lead to dire consequences for anyone caught in their web of falsehood.
When "corporations" commit murder, through such means, and by other careless, deliberate or deadly acts (including, but not limited to, such things as drugs that maim or kill, oil spills, radioactive contamination of the environment, pesticides, genetically adulterated organisms [GAOs, mislabeled GMOs], fertilizers and other forms of pollution, dangerous and hazardous working or living conditions, corruption of the food supply with chemicals, poisons, monstrous GAO contaminated crops, and over processing, overcooking, inedible, unclean, or otherwise unhealthy ingredients, additives, etc.), what can be done about it?
Here's an idea...
Let Justice Reign
Whenever some individual man or woman is caught doing what corporations get away with every day they are either locked up in prison for very long stretches of many years, even decades; and when they kill, murder, or otherwise commit capital offenses, they are even executed.
Granted, you cannot lock up a corporation. However that should not stop courts from targeting the heads of such corporations, from their boards of directors to corporate presidents; holding them personally liable for the acts of their companies directly resulting from their policies, actions, or unwillingness to act responsibly.
Jail time should be the minimum punishment. And this should be possible in whatever jurisdiction the company does business and creates any havoc, harm or hurt, even if the officers or executives are not domiciled there.
Not even the death penalty should be out of the question, when it comes to such crimes as mass murder, such as some drugs, chemical spills or radiation leaks, for instance, have been known to be guilty of causing.
Like government leaders, ministers, and other employees are supposed to be held liable for war crimes — including torture, needless suffering, death, inhumanely mistreating prisoners, and the like (although rarely or never enforced these days) — the same should hold true for corporate staff, from management down to the lowest employees found guilty of crimes against humanity.
This can and should include the death penalty.
Hiding behind a corporate structure should not be some sort of "get away with crime" card!
Accountability Essential
Nothing happens at the corporate level that individual men and/or women don't make happen, so they should be held directly accountable for their own actions, even if they are "just following orders" of somebody considered above them in the organizational corporate structure.
Such penalties should follow right up the chain of command, to the very top!
And when it comes to some corporations, those that do the most massive and repeated harm to humanity, the equivalent of pulling the plug on a terminally ill patient should apply -- corporate charters can and should be dissolved in such cases, by denying the corporation the right to do business in whatever jurisdiction(s) where they have committed felonious acts.
A quorum of such decisions by various jurisdictions should also be sufficient to pull the plug on an entire corporation in whatever home jurisdiction it was established, anywhere in the world.
All Idolatry Will End!
Of course the other alternative is even better. The courts could start obeying scriptural Law and stop treating dead pieces of paper like living, breathing, beings.
Such idolatry is and should be forbidden, under penalty of death, as it was anciently among those who obeyed the Commandments as intended.
This would eliminate a whole host of evils that are presently plaguing our modern world, that epitomize the idea of doing everything to your neighbor but what you would allow your neighbor to do to you.
So why not execute corporate "persons" when they are incorrigible?
No monstrously evil creation of men and women should be considered "too big to fail," no matter how much ill-gotten gains, power and influence those responsible for it have amassed.
Otherwise, humanity as a whole -- and life itself -- will be the biggest losers in the end!
This is precisely why a returning Savior will one day — very soon now — return to earth to destroy all such idols as corporate pseudo-“PERSONS,” and execute all those who refuse to abandon and renounce this form of mass insanity!
